Similarity Threshold

The maximum acceptable similarity index for any submitted manuscript is 20%. Submissions exceeding this limit will be automatically rejected or sent back for revision.

Journal of Digital Innovation and Social Research (JDISR) maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy against all forms of plagiarism and academic dishonesty to uphold scholarly integrity.

  • Screening Tool: Every submitted manuscript is thoroughly screened for similarity using Turnitin or Similarity Check prior to being sent for peer review.
  • Unethical Publishing Practices: Direct copying without attribution, paraphrasing without proper citation, self-plagiarism (text recycling), and data fabrication or falsification are strictly prohibited.
  • Action on High Similarity Rates:
    • 20% – 30%: Returned to author for mandatory revisions before further evaluation.
    • > 30%: Subject to immediate desk rejection without peer review.
  • Post-Publication Retraction: If plagiarism or intellectual property infringement is discovered after publication, the article will be formally retracted in strict compliance with COPE guidelines.
Authors are strongly advised to perform a self-check on their final draft using Turnitin or equivalent similarity-checking software prior to submission.
