Burnout among clergy is not merely a psychological issue but a theological crisis rooted in the neglect of creation rhythms and identity distortion. This study aims to deconstruct the root causes of clerical exhaustion and reconstruct a biblically-based recovery strategy. Using a qualitative method with a narrative exegesis approach to 1 Kings 19, this research finds that God addressed Elijah's depression through a holistic approach: biological intervention (eating and sleeping), the pedagogy of silence (qol demamah daqqah), and cognitive restructuring. Based on these findings and Walter Brueggemann's theology of Sabbath, this study proposes a "Rule of Life" as a self-care strategy. In conclusion, self-care is not a narcissistic act but a prophetic stewardship of body and soul to resist the culture of busyness, ensuring long-term ministry sustainability.
